University of Iowa Horn Studio  Website run by Jeffrey Agrell, professor at University of Iowa. Absolutely loaded with overwhelming amount of useful information. Maintained well, up to date.

Horn Matters  Website run by John Ericson, Professor at Arizona State. Lots of very practical and information about horns and horn techniques. Great link page, new stuff added constantly. In November 2009, the site offered a review of the Soft Stand. The link will take you directly to the article.

Canadian Brass The quintessential quintet. Fearless hornist Jeff Nelsen uses a Soft Stand.

Tom Varner  Website for the innovative composer who is considered by most if not all to be the premiere Jazz hornist alive today.

Horn Central  Fast-growing site with innumerable links to other horn related sites. Well designed and easy to navigate.

Ion Balu Mutes  Some of the best mutes available. Well made, handcrafted. Superb intonation characteristics.

PHC Mouthpiece System  Numerous combinations possible with interchangeable rims and cups.  Home of the extremely responsive “Z” cup.  Can’t say why it works, but it does!  Lively, interactive and informative forum.

Cape Cod Polishing Cloths 

I play an unlacqered horn, but I still like to keep it shiny. A nationally known repairman mistakenly described a 30-year-old horn of mine he was selling as being a lacquered instrument. Nope, it was just cleaned up with a Cape Cod Cloth. They smell nice, are mild, and leave behind an invisible protective coating. Just twice a year does the trick. McGrath's Hardware has the lowest prices and great service.
