Soft Stands were invented and patented in 2008 by Eric Lundberg, a professional nurseryman with a deep passion for music. An avid horn player, Eric performed with several local concert bands and a woodwind ensemble, and was also active in the Baroque and Renaissance recorder community. His wife, Terri, a retired choral music teacher, contributed her sewing skills to the project.
Every Soft Stand was handcrafted by the Lundbergs. They sourced kiln-dried, rough-cut lumber from a local sawmill and meticulously machined each piece to precise dimensions. Wherever possible, they used components made in the USA, reflecting their commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
From start to finish, the Lundbergs took exceptional care in every detail—ensuring each stand was not only durable and visually appealing, but also soft and gentle on your instrument. The result: a stand that’s sturdy, reliable, long-lasting, and most importantly, safe for even the most delicate horn finishes—never causing dents or scratches.
